Music has been the language of my life for as long as I can remember.

I am Meagan Pandian, a professional harpist, educator, multi-instrumentalist, and founder of Harp India—an initiative dedicated to nurturing harp performances, education, and appreciation across India. I am based in Mumbai but my work takes me across India and around the world.

While the harp is my primary voice, I am also a trained musician on the piano, violin and cello. My musical journey has been shaped by years of classical training, performance, teaching, and a continual desire to explore new artistic horizons. I believe that every instrument deepens my understanding of music and enriches my expression as a harpist.

Over the past twelve years, I have had the privilege of performing at concerts, weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, church services, recording sessions, and collaborative productions. I have collaborated with maestro A.R.Rahman, the singer Arijit Singh, Stephen Devassy, Vijay TV, Christ University (Bangalore), the Indian Navy Band, the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic (Czechoslovakia), the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) and the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA). Each occasion is unique, and I strive to create performances that are not only musically excellent but deeply meaningful and memorable.

Teaching has been one of the greatest joys of my career. Through my academy, I work with students of all ages (currently we have students from ages five to seventy-five), helping them discover confidence, discipline, creativity, and a lifelong love for music. I am especially passionate about making harp education accessible in India and mentoring the next generation of harpists with a strong technical and artistic foundation. I have partnered with schools, colleges and universities across India to engage students from nursery to high school in harp workshops, masterclasses and concerts. Partnerships with esteemed harp makers from the USA to Italy to Russia and China have enabled our students to have access to the best quality in harps with a variety of models to choose from.

As the founder of Harp India, my vision extends beyond performance and education. I hope to build a vibrant community where harpists, musicians, educators, composers, and audiences can connect, collaborate, and contribute to the growth of this remarkable instrument throughout the country.

Alongside my performance and teaching work, I collaborate with photographers, filmmakers, music directors, and fellow artists on recordings, commercial projects, and creative productions. I enjoy bringing the unique voice of the harp into diverse musical settings, from Western Classical and Sacred repertoire to contemporary, cinematic, jazz, Bollywood, latin, Indian Classical, Arabic and fusion styles.

Beyond music, I am also an author, an entrepreneur, and a homeschooling mother. These roles continually remind me that creativity, learning, and excellence are lifelong pursuits that extend far beyond the concert stage.

My desire has always been simple: to use music to bring beauty, hope, joy, and excellence into every space I enter. Whether I am performing on stage, teaching a beginner's first lesson, recording in the studio, or collaborating with fellow musicians, I consider it a privilege to share the gift of music with others.

Thank you for visiting Harp India. I look forward to welcoming you into this growing musical community.

A Personal Note

"Music is more than sound—it is a gift that has the power to heal, inspire, celebrate, and connect people across every generation. It is my joy and privilege to share that gift through every performance, every lesson, and every collaboration."
